Abstract :
Writing skill is of the four language skills which is difficult to master both in the first and second language. Writing is a form of communication, which can provide information and message for a purpose. However, the fact existing in the school showed that writing became one of the subjects which was not popular and it was one of the boring skills that should be learnt. The undertaking of the present classroom action research was mainly based on the preliminary observation which was conducted to the subjects of the study, the eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018. The result pointed out that their writing skill was still low. The present study was intended to figure out whether the subjects writing skill can be improved through ESA. Each cycle clearly showed the significant improvement of the subjects ability in writing descriptive text had been improved and 80% students reach the school minimum passing grade. Furthermore, the research also showed positive responses concerning the implementation of the technique in improving the subjects writing skill. To sum up, the present classroom action research proved that writing skill of the eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 8 Denpasar in Academic year 2017/2018 would be improved through ESA
